...The most significant design decision for the renno was moving the stairs between the two levels.
studio begins
One of the first things purchased for this project were some recycled traffic light poles from Adelaide Rural and Salvage. Thick steel, 140mm in diameter and galvinised. We were looking for windows out there and Chris spotted them.
extension floor
..it always looked problematic, but as the new walls and roof were built what to do with the floor became more and more the big question.
top roof
...it became a race to replace the roof on the top part of the house. winter rain was a looming problem.
extension roof
...to begin four recycled traffic light poles go up to suport the verandah rafters. a long beam, reclaimed from the old verandah, sits on top of the poles.
framing
...with the last of the fibro removed the framing for the extension had to be constructed. It took a while, but a very satisfying thing to have done.
