Another significant milestone. The tin goes on. All the kinks are out and it is just a matter of sticking it on. Well not quite. There are levels to be used and tin punches and, trickiest of all, the nibbler. Nibblers are modified power drills used for cutting tin and they are tricky buggers to come to terms with. The fun part is the fixing. Tec screws and the cordless drill. Very satisfying. Went up quickly.

October 20, the day after the asbestos came off the top and we got started. Getting started meant a trip to the tool shop. A cordless drill, a drop saw, all manner of fixings - tec screws, sisalation fixers and nail gun nails - and freebees - hats, t-shirts, drink bottles and stubbie holders. Not much building work got done. Things ramped up over the next few days.

October 19 as planned it started. The Adelaide Asbestos Removal team arrived early and ripped into it. A temporary star picket and fluorescent orange plastic fence went up around the property. Danger, asbestos removal in progress, no unauthorised person can enter the property. there were also air monitors placed around the house. Serious stuff.

1 Myall started as a timber frame asbestos fibro place. Fibro clad and gyprock upper level and complete fibro downstairs. Downstairs it was fibro walls inside and out, and a fibro ceiling. It was probably built in the 1960s on a block of land excised from the neighbours block.
