Bob the electrician turned up to begin moving the meter box. Matthew the plumber looked in to see what needed to be done for both the new gas connection and the plumbing. A trench was needed to lay the new pipes and so Terry was called in.
By Friday it was full throttle. Bob came back to finish the off the new meter box and to get ready for the ETSA guys. Terry, after a lot of careful inspection and some conferring with Bob to sort out where pipes and cables might run, got the excavator into gear for a beautiful 300 wide by 400 deep trench. Lachy donned one of the free hats and t-shirt and got stuck into moving part of the retaining wall in preparation for the studio foundations. A couple of days later he moved into demolition mode and took to the verandah.
The most significant achievement in the first couple of weeks was moving the shed to make way for the studio. I'd been thinking about how it might be done for ages, but on the day it just happened. Moving it was not easy, but what to do with it was clear. It needed more muscle. I rang Chris who was moving house and he had Terry and Darko with him. Darko is a big man. Another story. Darko suggested three ropes under the shed, a man at each end and lift. It worked of course and the shed, rather than being where it was, is somewhere else.
