Day started with a big breakfast in Mayes Cafe. Got away to a slow start, but felt better than yesterday. First stop was Hayes Creek, which was about halfway. I was a bit rude to the Belgian girl behind the counter. Shouldn't have been.
Got talking to a woman, sounded American or Canadian, who was telling me how beautiful Darwin was. I told her I'd grown up there. She asked me when I left. I told her. In the telling I told her I was part of the first intake to the Bullocky Point High School. She was travelling with two other woman who were Darwinites. Turned out one of them was Libby Benson, who I had gone to high school with as part of that first cohort.
Stopped again at a rest stop about 30kms from Adelaide River. Rode the last 30kms quickly. Not much in Adelaide River.
Tomorrow Darwin.
