Last day on the road.

Got going around 9:00. There seemed to be a lot of uphill. Also the road surface was rough. The final insult was that wind was against us. First time since Tennant Creek.

Aimed initially for a place called Acacia, which was 50 kms down the road. Tough going. Got to Acacia, where we were expecting a roadhouse and it had shut down. The next place was Noonamah another 20 kms along. Nothing for it but to get going.

Felt like it was getting hotter. Surprised myself by coming good. Got stronger as we went along.

Noonamah was pretty bleak. There was nothing attractive about it. At least the store was air conditioned.

30 kms to Palmerston. I got stronger still.

Palmerston begins at the Howard Springs turnoff. Still not clear if Palmerston is the northern most suburb of Darwin or a separate town. Anyway it merges into Darwin so it felt like this was journey's end.

Didn't like riding with the increased traffic. Riding in from Palmerston there didn't seem to be anything particularly nice about Darwin.

But we were here. The job was done.
