First day on the Stuart Highway. My feet were very painful at times. Tried riding with my feet out of my riding shoes like Pierre. It helped, but not enough. Resorted to riding in my tevas (sandels). This was better again, but I was still not comfortable. I need to find a way to ride without pain.
We stopped for the night after riding about 80kms. Camping out for the first time next to what looked like a repeater station of some sort. Something like three corner jacks were everywhere. Hoping we don't pick up another puncture or two. Pierre has had at least one puncture every day except one. Vero and I have had one puncture each.
Cooked pasta using the trangia. Another first for the trip. Added a couple of cans of tuna to the pasta and once on the plate some tomato sauce. Delicious.
Before going to bed we soaked oats for breakfast. Hopefully it will be enough to get us through the first few hours. Vero has resorted to eating two minute noodles out the packet. When hunger strikes she has to eat immediately.
7:47 and I am struggling to stay awake. I have resorted to sleeping on top of my sleeping bag as the weather remains very mild. Great for what we are doing.
Pierre and Vero want an early start tomorrow. We would like to make Pimba.
...go to day 7 - May 16
