Laura was a nice place with a comfortable, not too fancy caravan park. The northerly from the day before brought more moderate temperatures and had dried things up. No dew when we woke. Ate in the pub or one of the pubs last night and had breakfast at a local cafe.

Met an amazing woman as we were off to breakfast. She was just setting out for the day on her walk along the Heysen travelling south to north. She said she averaged about 50 kms per day and this was one of a number of long treks she had undertaken. Meeting and talking to her was inspiring.

The other incident of note was being pulled up by four carloads of detectives so that Pierre and Vero could be warned for not wearing helmets. "It is a safety issue". Oh yeah. Pierre asked if this was the most serious problem they had to worry about. A warning ticket was written out.

It was another long day pushing into a stiff headwind. Wilmington was a little desolate compared to the other towns we had stayed in.

...go to day 5 - May 14
