Because I was in bed by 8:00 I was awake at 5:00. There is nothing to do after dark especially as Pierre and Vero easily sleep 12 to 13 hours a night.
At dawn I went and took some pics of the falls then waited for the others to rise. Pierre got up around 8:30. We wandered over to the kiosk for a coffee, but it wasn't open. Came back to the tents to prepare porridge. Ate then back for a coffee.
After coffee the three of us walked up the escarpment to the middle pool. This is about a one and a half kilometer walk. Very nice. The air and water temperature was cool. A bit of a change to what we had encountered in Mataranka and Katherine, but we were hardened to it by swimming in those very cold caravan park pools in the middle of Australia. In we went for a swim. It was lovely. From the middle pool there is a path that loops back to the campsite along the other side of the river. There are more great views.
Back at the bottom pool we swam again and then had lunch at the kiosk. We then relaxed for a couple of hours before a last swim in the bottom pool. It had been relaxing day with a lot of swimming. Also tossed the baseball a few times. Feeling a bit sore.
In bed by 7:00. Hope I don't wake at 4:00.
Tomorrow pine creek. 65 or so kms.
,,,go to day 38 - June 16
