Smoothest day we've had. Nice continental brekkie at the pub. Cheap and plentiful.

Everyone felt strong from the start. The sign at the start indicated 275kms to Alice and 74kms to Erldunda, which is at the turnoff to Uluru.

Good time was made and we could have made better time if my feet didn't play up. Started in my bike shoes and felt ok. At the first stop, which was at about the 35kms mark, I was still feeling strong.  Headed off again, but in no time my right foot was sore. Stopped and replaced my right shoe with a teva. Set off again, but my left foot gave me trouble. Was going to change that shoe, but once again Pierre offered me his shoes. With those on we flew in to Erldunda. Feeling so good we even had the energy to horse around, part of which involved chasing down Vero, who had ridden on while we changed shoes.

Ate lots including potato chips and drank coke and orange juice the day before in Kulgera. Wondering if calories and plenty of them is the secret.

Stopped in the Desert Oasis caravan park. Seems flash. The swimming pool was cold and refreshing.

Two couples who saw us in Pt Augusta reintroduced themselves. Came over to Pierre and Vero while I was ringing people in Adelaide bringing beer and cashews. Another example of generosity on the road. We've had a few now. Good, easy day.

Planning to get going early in the morning. 110kms or so to the next roadhouse, which is where we hope to reach.

...go to day 17 - May 26
